I have listed my Hatfield banjo in the classified section.  It is in mint condition.  I have priced it at $2300 though I have more than $500 more than that invested.  I never learned to play and this is too nice a banjo to just sit in its case.  Arthur built this banjo for me in 2008.

That's a nice banjo. It may prove to be difficult to sell on here though unless you're willing to ship it. Best of luck with the sale, and I'm very sorry to hear that the banjo didn't work out for you.

very nice banjo. and for it to be virtually unplayed, it sounds like a super deal. It does seem like you're cutting down the market for it considerably by not allowing the shipping option. I've bought, sold, traded banjos over the last few years and shipping was a part of all but one transaction (California, where I live and to/from places like Virginia, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, South Carolina, Washington, etc.) I've personally have never experienced a problem with that but have read about some horror stories. My thought is if you pack it really well, insure it and sell it to someone reputable (have the money in hand before you ship it to them), it could work out well for you.

Hope you sell it quickly.

That's one of the saddest stories that I've heard in a long time.  I wish I could afford to give that banjo the proper home it deserves.  Oh well, someone will I'd imagine.

If anyone  interested in the Hatfield banjo  is coming to the SPBGMA/BNL  Banjo Workshop in Nashville, TN on Feb. 3 you can contact me and make arrangements to stop by and see it.  I live about 25 miles north of Nashville just off Interstate 65.  I have been contacted by potential buyers asking me to ship banjo.  I will not ship.  I will sell only in person for cash.  I also have a mint Epiphone Dove guitar in a nice case that I will take $250 for if anyone passing this way needs it.  Also have a Deagan Celeste 101 xylophone on stand for $300.  I can email pictures of these other two instruments if anyone would like.
