Wanting to build resonator banjo's

Monday, April 30, 2012 @3:01:11 PM

I need any and all information on builders and students and learners and teachers of resonator banjo's in the Pacific Northwest. Like do I need to take a luthier course? I know Doc in Oregon build openbacks and internal resonator banjo's but I want to build full on Gibson style Banjo's. Any and all info would be beneficial. i would also like to build guitars. There are plenty of good pacific Northwest hardwoods that would make good instruments, I'm just suprised there are not more builders up here.
