The Hangout Workshops are a great way to learn from the best...no matter where you live. I spent 2 hours learning from a master picker from sunny California, even though I was in snowy Canada!

Upcoming Workshops:

Bill Evans - "Exploring the Fingerboard: Scruggs, Melodic and Single-string Styles" - Feb 26

The more you know your way around the fingerboard, the better music you’ll make on the banjo. In this hands-on session designed for all levels but ideal for intermediate to advanced students, you’ll move beyond basic chord shapes to explore the fingerboard in ways that will enhance your playing whether your focus is on Scruggs, melodic or single-string styles. From interval studies on two strings (thirds on the 1st and 2nd strings and sixths on the 3rd and 1st strings) to melodic scale positions in the keys of G, C and D and single-string fingering/scale positions up and down the neck, this session will give you insights that you can use for improvisation, creating solos and backup. Join Bill for this brand new BHO group workshop topic!
